On a showery and blustery day the final games of the season were played, in the Vase Shipley Club already had the title won baring a disaster and their two game double header against Drighlington and Moldgreen provided maximum points for them to win the league with points to spare.

Runners up spot was much tighter and went to the wire. Last years winners Mytholmroyd finished with a maximum twenty points, while rivals Hanging Heaton, themselves previous winners, were going down 17-15 to Mirfield. When the dust settled they were level on points but Heaton took the runners up spot courtesy of having more wins through the season than Mytholmroyd.

The relegation places were filled by All Stars, who have found it tough following promotion, and Drighlington.

The Victorious Shipley Team

The individual average winners prize went to the last match of the season with Dave Bland of Shipley just getting the nod. Spare a thought though for Moldgreen’s Andy Hoult who led the table with an eleven match unbeaten run only to lose his last two games, one of which was to Bland enabling him to take the prize.

In the Saturday Trophy Oxenhope took the title following a last match battle with runners up Hit & Miss, Oxenhope winning the game 16-10 and the title only decided with this last day game. Oxenhope should hold their own in the Vase next season.

The Oxenhope Team with their Trophy.

The individual average prize went to David Hemsley of Oxenhope who was the only player from both Saturday and Tuesday competitions who went all season undefeated and also played in every game.

Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to all who have participated this winter and supported our competition.
